The American Adventure was a popular theme park located in Shipley Country Park near Ilkeston, Derbyshire, which operated from 1987 to 2007. This American Wild West-themed attraction featured roller coasters, water rides, and family entertainment across 100 acres of parkland. The park included themed areas such as a Native American village, Wild West town, and various adventure rides including the famous Missile roller coaster and Rocky Mountain Rapids. During its operational years, it served as a major tourist destination in the East Midlands, hosting corporate events, birthday parties, and family days out. The site has been closed since 2007, with the land now being part of Shipley Country Park managed by Derbyshire County Council.
