Coleg Harlech was a pioneering adult education institution founded in 1927 by the Workers' Educational Association. Located in the historic town of Harlech beneath the famous medieval castle, the college served as a residential institution for adult learners for 90 years. The college was known for its inclusive approach to education, welcoming students from diverse backgrounds who had missed traditional educational opportunities. The institution played a crucial role in Welsh educational and cultural life, offering degree courses in partnership with universities and fostering intellectual development among working-class students. Though the college closed in 2017, its legacy continues as a symbol of accessible higher education in Wales.
